News Affecting Portland Real Estate

by William Metzker on February 11, 2010

Okay, this is just a digest, but here goes:

Vestas Americas, a branch of the Dutch company who makes wind turbines, announced layoffs of 114 because of low demand. Fifteen people in Portland are included.  Read it here, in OregonLive. Bad for Portland, especially the South Waterfront, who has experienced enough bad news.

The Box and One at 28th and Ankeny. The Burnside Rocket at E. 11th. These are just two of the very cool developments by Kevin Cavenaugh. He had one of his loans come due, the lender is giving him a hard time over it and it may affect loans on his other projects. Read it in OregonLive. It’s a local angle on how troubles in commercial real estate affect buyers and sellers of homes.

Want to know how the MAX extension will affect Brooklyn and SE Portland? It’s another good story in OregonLive.
