Large, international organization headquartered in Portland. Mercy Corps also began a micro loan program in Portland.

OREGON PUBLIC BROADCASTING
I can’t say enough about National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting System. The Oregon affiliate is first-rate.

Not local, but what a great micro lending program.

RIVERKEEPERS
People keeping an eye on the Willamette River.

OPEN DOOR
A HUD-trained staff helps people fight foreclosure at no charge. This group also offers homeless services in Washington County as well as provides home buyer’s information classes.
